Burton Clash: A Beginner`s All Mountain Snowboard

Burton Clash is an entry level all mountain free ride snowboard. My friend let me tried his old 153 cm board when I was a beginner. My board at that time was a Burton Custom so naturally, this board felt so easy to ride, easy to control, and easy to flex. Moreover , it felt pretty unique on my feet probably due to the unique profile.

It has a flat to rocker profile, with soft twin flex, medium side cut radius, and a tapered directional shape which performs well in most mountain terrains and even in parks.

- Flat to rocker profile means it is flat between the feet and raises up like a rocker at the nose and tail. It allow for easy riding so less likely to catch an edge even with poor technique.

- Soft flex allows for easy control and the twin flex for switch riding

- Medium side cut radius allow medium turns and carves

- Tapered directional shape has a slightly wider area in the nose compared to the tail which helps perform better in powder and as a freeride but can still be ridden switch (regular or goofy) because of the twin flex. The stance can be offset to allow the nose to float even better in powder

This board is designed for beginner who is learning the basics so would not care about speed, and other technical stuff such as edge hold, pop, etc. Moreover it is priced affordably. It can can ridden anywhere in the mountain allowing the rider to try different terrains and different riding styles until such time he or she is ready to progress . It is relatively good on powder and stable in bumpy uneven terrain.
