Yes the Greats: My Favorite Freestyle All Mountain Snowboard

Yes the Greats 2017 size 154cm is my new favorite freestyle all mountain snowboard. This replaces my Burton Custom as it is more suitable for my riding style. This is a year old model which I just got brand new from an online US store for a pre-season special 35% discount. I had been looking for this type of board for sometime now. I was debating whether to get this board or the Never Summer Proto Type 2 (similar profile as Funslinger but twice stiffer), Lib Tech TRS Horsepower, Lib Tech Hot Knife or Capita Outerspace Living. I finally decided on this board because it is a better progression for my skills and expect it to give me a different riding with more pop, speed and stability than the Never Summer Funslinger.

This is now my main board and using it all around the mountain from small to large resorts, sometimes on parks and on powder specially if I can bring just one board. It is a very capable park board. It is doable for powder but requires leaning back. It complements my Never Summer Funslinger which is most suitable for parks and small resorts, and Yes 2020 for powder.

It is a hybrid camber, medium flex, short side cut radius, and an asymmetrical twin shape.

- The hybrid camber profile has a camber between the feet and turns into a rocker towards the nose and tail. The nose is basically lifted to help float in powder and makes the edge less catchy. The camber allows a stable ride and carve even at high speed.

- Medium flex helps with stability specially at medium speeds

- Short side cut radius allows you to make fast turns and carves

- Asymmetrical twin shape like the Never Summer Funslinger, has a shorter side cut (faster) in the heel edge compared to the toe. This helps most riders compensate for slower turns on heel edge.

This board can really go fast, turns really fast, playful and excellent in switch or jumps, stable and good for carving. It is better suited for intermediate and above riders who like freestyling all over the big mountain.
